MR-JE AL.20 — Encoder Normal Communication Error 1
Trip — immediate stop
CAUSE
Why does it occur?
- Error in serial communication between encoder and servo amplifier during normal steady-state operation (after startup)
- Causes: encoder cable malfunction, shield not connected to connector ground plate, faulty servo amplifier or encoder, or external noise
REMEDY · Step by step
How to fix it?
- Check encoder cable for disconnection or short and repair/replace
- Verify cable shield is bonded to connector ground plate
- Replace servo amplifier then servo motor in sequence to isolate
- Eliminate noise, abnormal temperature, and vibration
Do not reset repeatedly before identifying the cause. Repeated resets while ignoring a trip/alarm can cause secondary damage (IGBT failure, motor winding damage, etc.).
